West Hollywood : City’s Population Grows by 600

The city’s population grew by an estimated 1.6% between 1985 and 1986, according to new statistics released by the Los Angeles County Regional Planning Commission.

The figures, which show a 1986 population of 37,985, reflect an increase of 600 residents. Officials have described West Hollywood, which is 1.9 square miles, as the most densely populated city of its size west of the Mississippi.

The new figures also show an average of 1.64 persons living in each of the city’s 23,043 occupied households.
