CalFed Inc., parent of California Federal Savings & Loan Assn., elected new directors to both of its boards.
Arthur W. Schmutz, advisory partner of the Los Angeles law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, fills new seats on the boards of CalFed Inc. and California Federal. William L. Callender, the recently named president and chief executive of California Federal, was also elected to both boards. He succeeds David J. Reed, who was appointed president of California Federal’s subsidiary companies.
Murray H. Hutchison, chairman of International Technology Corp., who was appointed to CalFed’s board in December, has been elected to a new seat on the savings and loan’s board.
