Arizona Beats UCI in Baseball, 11-6
Senior right fielder Pat Waid hit his first career home run to lead Arizona to an 11-6 nonconference victory over UC Irvine Friday afternoon on Sancet Field in Tucson before 1,073.
The Anteaters led, 4-3, going into the bottom of the sixth inning but the Wildcats (2-0) sent 13 batters to the plate and scored eight runs. The final three runs came on Waid’s home run.
Mark Webster was 3 for 4 and scored four runs for the Anteaters (0-2).
The three-game series ends today.
