An airliner’s engine failed as the pilot was revving up for takeoff at Sacramento International Airport, blowing pieces of metal from a tailpipe, but none of the 100 passengers nor the five crewmen was hurt, authorities said. The accident aboard PSA flight 584 to San Diego caused a runway closure of up to four hours and delayed the arrival of several flights, airport officials said.
