AIA Honors San Diego Firm
The American Institute of Architects, San Diego chapter, has awarded its prestigious Outstanding Community Service Award to Delawie/Bretton/ Wilkes Associates, San Diego.
The award, given only once before during the chapter’s 57 years, was presented by outgoing president Doug Austin to partners Homer Delawie, Michael Wilkes and John Bretton.
Delawie, who was a planning commissioner for the city of San Diego and held numerous offices for the California Council of AIA, served as chapter president, as did Wilkes, who is currently secretary for the California Council of AIA. Bretton is a past president of the California Council of Architectural Education.
