The Soviet Union suffers under a “totalitarian system,” Pravda quoted ABC’s top Los Angeles public relations executive in an interview published Sunday. Reuters called the Communist Party newspaper’s article a “striking demonstration of the Kremlin’s openness policy.” The remark by Bob Wright, vice president of ABC’s public liaison office, followed a sharp attack by the newspaper on the network’s upcoming 14 1/2-hour “Amerika” miniseries. Wright said the program tries “to examine what the daily life of the inhabitants of our country would be like if they fell under the yoke of a totalitarian system.”
