Roger Wagner, who collapsed on stage while conducting the Los Angeles Master Chorale, was in stable condition at St. John’s Hospital and Health Center in Santa Monica after undergoing emergency surgery for a brain hemorrhage. Wagner, 73, suffered a cranial blood clot that was drained during surgery, a hospital spokeswoman said. Wagner was originally rushed from the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion to French Hospital in Chinatown by paramedics, but he was transferred to St. John’s, where an examination detected the blood clot. The founder and music director laureate of the chorale was in stable condition in the intensive care unit where he was receiving medicine to control his blood pressure, the spokeswoman said.
