Orange County Prep Soccer : Fleming Scores 20th Goal in Laguna Hills Win

Brian Fleming scored his 20th goal of the season as Laguna Hills High School defeated Trabuco Hills, 2-0, in a Pacific Coast League soccer game at Laguna Hills.

Pat Richards also scored for Laguna Hills, the Pacific Coast League leader. Goalkeeper Kevin Casagranda made nine saves as he recorded his sixth shutout.

The Hawks improved to 6-1 and 15-4-2. Trabuco Hills fell to 2-5 and 9-7-2.

Woodbridge 4, Costa Mesa 2--Matt West scored two goals to lead the Warriors (4-1-2, 8-7-4) and Oliver Cathey and Jeff Smith each added one. Goalkeeper Mike Goodman had 16 saves for Woodbridge. Scott Taylor scored twice, and Nelson Garcia had 17 saves for the Mustangs (0-7-0) at Costa Mesa.

In the Century League:

El Modena 1, Villa Park 1--Scott James scored on a free kick late in the first half to give El Modena a 1-1 tie with Villa Park at El Modena. Jeremy Amen scored on a penalty kick midway through the first half for Villa Park (3-1-3, 12-2-4), which has scored only three goals in its last four games. El Modena is 1-3-3 in league.

Santa Ana 0, Canyon 0--Santa Ana tied league-leading Canyon (5-0-2, 15-6-2) at Canyon.

In the Freeway League:

Sunny Hills 2, Troy 1--Steve Fichtelberg scored his 14th goal and Scott Kimoto scored his first as Sunny Hills (6-1, 11-2) held on to sole possession of first place in the league with a victory at home. Troy fell to 4-3 in league.

In the Garden Grove League:

Bolsa Grande 2, La Quinta 2--Mark Miller and Bob Bowers scored for Bolsa Grande (5-1-1, 7-7-1).

In the Sea View League:

Corona del Mar 1, Estancia 0--After a 0-0 tie at halftime, Pat Merrell, Sea King center forward, scored on a free kick from 20 yards out at home. Corona del Mar (3-2-2, 6-5-3) avenged a 2-1 loss to the Eagles (3-3-1, 11-7-1) earlier this season.

Newport Harbor 4, University 0--Shaun Jarrard scored two goals to lead the Sailors (5-2, 11-5-1) at Newport Harbor. David Woodruff and Garth Tamblyn each added one. Goalkeeper Royce Hudson had 10 saves for his seventh shutout.

In the South Coast League:

Capistrano Valley 2, Irvine 0--Joe Wood and Brent Schofield scored as the Cougars (3-3-1, 6-9-3) won at home. Irvine fell to 3-2-2 and 8-2-7.

In the Angelus League:

Bishop Amat 0, Mater Dei 0--Bishop Amat and Mater Dei played to a scoreless tie after two 10-minute overtimes at Mater Dei. Bishop Amat is 5-2-1 in league; Mater Dei is 6-1-1 and 12-5-3.

In the Orange League:

Orange Lutheran 1, Western 1--Gail Swickard scored for the Lancers and Diane Wald scored for Western. The Lancers are 2-4-1 and 3-9-2.
