Responding to complaints from the United Nations and other organizations, ABC will broadcast disclaimers before episodes of “Amerika,” a U.N. source told the Associated Press on Thursday. The news service said ABC will air disclaimers saying agencies portrayed in the 14 1/2-hour miniseries are fictional, and ABC has also agreed not to show the U.N. emblem in advertising for the program airing Feb. 15-22. A network spokesman confirmed that “in all likelihood there will be a disclaimer” but not a report that ABC will air a Feb. 23 “Viewpoint” program on the “Amerika” controversy.
