A white supremacist was convicted of battering two police officers during a melee between his cohorts and the Jewish Defense League at Los Angeles’ Union Station last May. Stanley Witek, 53, identified by prosecutors as the director of the National Socialist White People’s Party, a small neo-Nazi organization, was found guilty of two counts of assault and one count each of battery, battery on a police officer, attempted battery and obstructing a police officer. He was acquitted by Los Angeles Municipal Court jurors of a second count of battery on a police officer. All the charges are misdemeanors. Witek is to be sentenced March 5.
