VIDEORGY: Was that Billy Idol we saw on Hollywood Boulevard? You bet. The pop leer-jet was in L.A. last week, making a new anti-violence video, “Don’t Need a Gun.” Directed by video wiz Julien (“Absolute Beginners”) Temple, the clip will include footage shot at such exotic Boulevard locales as Ned’s Liquor Store and the Thrifty Dry Cleaners with a special appearance by ‘50s pop crooner Johnnie Ray. . . . Please don’t adjust your set. The new video from the L.A.-based rock duo, the Stabilizers, was filmed entirely in black-and-white. However, worried that Ted Turner may get his hands on the clip, the band’s label, Columbia Records, has sent out the videos with an attached warning sticker, which reads: “Do Not Colorize.” . . . Meanwhile, David & David, one of last year’s most critically lauded new duos, is making a video of its new single, “Ain’t So Easy,” with British director Stephen (“My Beautiful Laundrette”) Frears. . . . And Dokken has cut a new song, “Dream Warriors,” which will be the theme to the upcoming horror flick, “Nightmare on Elm Street III,” due later this month. (The song will also appear on Dokken’s next record, scheduled for later this year.)
