Local News in Brief : Lamp Factory Charged With Illegal Dumping

A North Hollywood lamp factory illegally dumped acid wastes containing heavy metals in a three-foot-deep pit last year, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office charged Tuesday.
Irma Jaboli Inc., doing business under the name Tiffany Designs, and plant manager Carlos Esparza, 27, each were charged with one felony count of illegal disposal of hazardous wastes and three misdemeanor counts of improper storage of hazardous wastes.
The dumping occurred in the pit near the factory at 10866 Chandler Blvd. between January and July of last year, Deputy Dist. Atty. William Carter said.
