What do you, as a high school student, do in this situation?
“Following the drug-related death of a fellow student, the principal asks you to reveal the names of those students you know who sell or use drugs on campus. What is your response? What ethical choices do you have?”
The above is one of several fields of questions that Placentia Unified School District students will ponder during a Youth Leadership Conference sponsored by the district on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Brea Civic Cultural Center. The goal of the conference is to promote “educational competence, managerial skills and ethical values consistent with democratic principles.”
District officials said the conference will show student leaders that “leadership involves making choices of conscience in complex situations.”
