Pop singer Sly Stone was back in Los Angeles jail Wednesday on drug charges after being surrendered by a bail bondsmen, police said. Stone was to be taken to Los Angeles County Superior Court on a bench warrant issued Jan. 17 for failure to appear on a narcotic case, said Detective Jim Turner of the LAPD’s Fugitive Section. The ‘60s star, who headed the group, Sly and the Family Stone, was also being held without bail for an outstanding two-count warrant issued by authorities in Fort Meyers, Fla., Turner said.
