Bobby Czyz rose from the canvas after a first-round knockdown to stop Willie Edwards in the second round and keep his International Boxing Federation light-heavyweight title at Atlantic City, N.J.
“I used his overconfidence to my advantage,” said Czyz, who improved to 31-1 with 22 knockouts. “He came out whaling in the second round, which is what I figured he was going to do.”
Edwards fell to 22-3-1 with 16 knockouts.
