CBS News’ “West 57th” could be returning to the schedule any month now and possibly will be positioned in the 10 p.m. Monday time slot, where the critically lauded “Cagney & Lacey” is on the ratings roller coaster, the Washington Post reported Monday. CBS said it could not confirm the report. (Last week, “Cagney & Lacey” plunged to a tie for 63rd place in the Nielsens after previous weekly finishes of 32nd, 34th, 44th and 43rd.) New to the slick telemagazine’s masthead this season: correspondent Steve Kroft, from the CBS News London bureau, who joins “veterans” Jane Wallace, Meredith Vieira, John Ferrugia and Bob Sirrott.
