Hermosa Beach : Strand Safety Hearing Set
A public hearing will be held March 24 to consider final recommendations from the city’s Strand Safety Committee. The City Council accepted in concept three suggestions for enforcement this summer on the beachfront walkway, including posting a 10-m.p.h. speed limit for bicyclists, requiring cyclists to walk bikes in the pier area, and banning skateboards during heavy use periods. The committee also considered construction of a separate bike path to alleviate Strand congestion in the summer months and weekends.
