MOVING RIGHT ALONG: The Fine Young Cannibals will handle the score (as well as contribute four new songs) to Barry Levinson’s upcoming film, “Tin Men,” which stars Richard Dreyfuss and Danny DeVito. Set in Baltimore circa 1963, the film will also include such period hits as “The Girl From Ipanema,” “In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning,” “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance,” “Wishin’ and Hopin’ ” and Elvis’ “His Latest Flame.” . . . We knew that Grateful Dead fans had a lot of pull, but this is ridiculous: Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Inc., a Vermont ice cream firm, has introduced a new flavor--Cherry Garcia (named after Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia). The new brand features vanilla ice cream with bing cherries and chocolate flakes. . . . The Fabulous Thunderbirds are heading for Memphis, where they will record a follow-up album to their current hit, “Tuff Enuff,” with Dave Edmunds at the production helm. . . . And Rick Rubin (the wizard behind Def-Jam Records and the Beastie Boys) is in the studio again, this time with the Cult, which is due to have the record out by early summer.
