Ted Factor: Longtime Ad Agency Executive
Ted H. Factor, a co-founder of the advertising agency Doyle Dane Bernbach Needham, Worldwide, died Saturday of heart failure at a Los Angeles hospital at age 72.
Factor moved to Los Angeles in 1931 after graduating from high school in Oakland. He attended USC and UCLA before joining a small retail advertising agency as a copywriter.
He opened his own agency in the mid-1930s and merged it with Doyle Dane Bernbach in 1954.
Factor’s survivors include his wife, Barbara, and two brothers.
