OBITUARIES : Randolph Scott, Film Cowboy Hero, Eulogized at Rites
Randolph Scott, the laconic hero of Western films, was buried Wednesday in a family plot in Charlotte, N.C., and praised in a telegram by President Reagan as “one of Hollywood’s finest talents.”
The Rev. Billy Graham, a longtime friend of Scott, delivered the eulogy at a graveside service for about 25 family members and close friends.
Scott died Monday at his home in Beverly Hills. He was 89 and had been in failing health for several years.
