Burglars provided Los Angeles City Councilman Robert Farrell with yet another argument for passage of the controversial June 2 ballot measure--which he originated--to have South-Central Los Angeles residents agree to pay extra for additional police protection. Farrell’s car, which was parked in front of his South Los Angeles home, was burglarized over the weekend--not once, but twice. Farrell first called police to report that a car telephone and radio had been stolen from his 1970 Buick, a police spokesman said. About four hours later, Farrell called again, this time to report that the thief or thieves had returned to finish the job, breaking into the trunk and taking the telephone transmitter. No suspects had been found, police said.
