George Foreman, former heavyweight champion, begins a comeback at age 39 tonight when he fights Steve Zouski of Milwaukee in a 10-round bout in Sacramento.
Foreman, 1968 Olympic heavyweight gold medalist, was 45-2 with 42 knockouts before he retired. His last fight was a loss to Jimmy Young on March 17, 1977, at San Juan, Puerto Rico. His only other defeat came on Oct. 30, 1974, when he lost the heavyweight title to Muhammad Ali in Kinsasha, Zaire.
Foreman is 6-4 and more than 260 pounds. Zouski, 28, has a 25-10 record with 14 knockouts. He’s 6-feet, 210 pounds.
