ASIAN ARTISTS TO HONOR PAT MORITA

Pat Morita, star of ABC’s “Ohara,” will be honored March 23 at 6 p.m. with a lifetime achievement award by the Assn. of Asian/Pacific American Artists.

The association, whose third annual media awards dinner in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel is open to the public, also will recognize the following production companies and performing arts groups for their efforts to create realistic images of the Asian/Pacific American in the media: Lorimar Telepictures for Andrew Andelson’s “Blood and Orchids”; ITC Productions for “The Girl Who Spelled Freedom”; AW & S Productions for “A Great Wall”; Jerry Weintraub Productions for “Karate Kid Part II”; Motown Productions and Walt Disney Television for “Sidekicks”; Harve Bennett Productions for “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home”; recording artists Hiroshima; and the Los Angeles Inner City Cultural Center, a community arts organization.
