ABC SCHEDULES 4 DOCUMENTARIES

ABC News has scheduled a slate of four hourlong documentaries to air over the spring and summer, covering such topics as drug addiction, mental illness and Soviet leadership.

“The Bomb Factories,” the first program (April 24, 10-11 p.m.), will investigate alleged safety violations and safety flaws at U.S. nuclear weapons productions facilities.

“Addiction” on May 22 deals with the effects of alcohol and cocaine on the body and reports on new research that identifies addiction as more of a biological than a psychological problem.

“The Mentally Ill” is the title of the June 26 report. The final documentary will look at current Soviet leadership on Aug. 28.
