Two Hollywood screenwriters sued “Superman” star Christopher Reeve and two movie studios for $45 million, claiming that the idea for the upcoming fourth motion picture in the “Superman” series was stolen from them. Writers Barry E. Taff and Kenneth Stoller are alleging in their Los Angeles Superior Court complaint that Reeve claimed in a series of public interviews that he had “originated a new and exciting idea for a further sequel . . . and that the idea had led him . . . to perform in a new sequel.” The writers claim that Reeve had received a copy of their movie treatment before the interviews and that both Warner Bros. and Cannon Films Inc. went along with the deception.
