Fresno’s “Black Rose of the Airwaves”--Walter Dunn Jr.--vowed Tuesday to resume broadcasting on his bootleg radio station soon, despite threats of prosecution by the Federal Communications Commission. Dunn said he is building a low-power, portable transmitter in a trailer that he plans to use to broadcast on an FM frequency from different locations, including Oakland and San Francisco. Dunn’s unlicensed broadcast operation was raided and shut down by the FCC last January after playing a combination of soul, blues, rap and gospel music for two years.
