Gregory Alan Lemos, 22, an El Toro-based Marine who lives in Santa Ana, got in an argument with his estranged wife and allegedly caused an accident in which another man was killed.

Lemos got in his car and chased a car driven by Bruce John Dusseau, a companion of Sheila Lemos, who was also in the car. Gregory Lemos repeatedly rammed Dusseau’s car, and when the cars approached the intersection of 17th Street and Tustin Avenue in Santa Ana, he rammed it once more, pushing it into traffic, police said.

Dusseau’s car collided with a pickup truck containing two people. One of them, Michael A. Avila, 21, of Santa Ana, was ejected from the truck and died at the scene, police said.

Lemos was booked at Orange County Jail on suspicion of murder and held in lieu of $250,000 bail. He also was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon because of the alleged ramming of Dusseau’s car.

The Lemoses are getting a divorce and apparently had argued about child custody, police said.
