Quarterback Jack Trudeau of the Indianapolis Colts, charged with battery on a police officer and disorderly conduct, has been offered a plea-bargaining agreement by the prosecutor’s office, the Indianapolis News reported.

Trudeau and a friend were arrested after a downtown street fight Feb. 13. He claimed they were attacked by three other men. Policeman Ricky Lee Dean said he was struck by Trudeau as he attempted to break up the fight.

The paper said it had learned that the Marion County prosecutor’s office would drop the charges of disorderly conduct and battery on a police officer if Trudeau would plead guilty to a misdemeanor battery count and apologize to Dean.
