The National Basketball Assn. has increased the price for each new franchise, to be awarded next month, from $25 million to $32.5 million, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
An unidentified member of the NBA expansion committee told the paper that league owners are expected to approve the increase before the scheduled April 22 announcement of which cities will be awarded up to three new teams. The NBA projected the $25 million franchise fee last year.
