Los Angeles Unified School District Supt. Harry Handler will assume a full-time teaching position in the UCLA Graduate School of Education upon his retirement this June. Starting July 1, Handler will become an adjunct professor, conducting research and working with students who wish to become school administrators. Handler, who began his career as a junior high school instructor in Los Angeles in 1952, has been chief of the nation’s second-largest district for five years.
