City Councilwoman Clarice Blamer has been named to serve on the Orange County Centennial executive board.

Blamer, a former mayor of Brea and arts activist in Orange County, has served on the City Council since 1982 and is also a member of the Orange County League of Cities Super Committee on Transportation.

The centennial’s executive board is planning the county’s yearlong anniversary, which begins Aug. 1, 1988, and is expected to include musical, artistic, educational and athletic events, as well as publicizing local history. Among the specific events being considered are a gala opening at the Performing Arts Center or Pacific Amphitheater, and closing ceremonies at Anaheim Stadium.
