Local News in Brief : Wachs Interrupts Burglary at His Home
- Share via
City Councilman Joel Wachs interrupted a burglary in his house in Studio City earlier this week, Los Angeles police said. One or more intruders fled, leaving some of Wachs’ belongings in trash bags on the front lawn.
Police had not learned Thursday whether anything was taken, Detective John Brown said.
The burglars entered Tuesday night through the kitchen door, Brown said, and Wachs returned home about 11 p.m.
The door was locked, but a window had been removed and someone apparently had reached through the window and used pliers to unlock the door.
“He had his house secured,” Brown said. “He did the things we normally tell people to do.”
