The Doobie Brothers rock group have moved their planned May 21 reunion concert from Phoenix to Las Vegas in protest against Arizona Gov. Evan Mechem’s revoking of the state’s holiday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.

The benefit for the Little Sisters of the Poor charity will be the first of three concerts bringing together all the former members of the group, which disbanded in 1982.

The other shows will be May 23 at the Hollywood Bowl to benefit the Vietnam Veterans Aid Foundation and May 25 in the San Francisco area to raise money for the Stanford Children’s Hospital. A press conference is scheduled for Tuesday to announce the formal details of the mini-tour.
