Blaze Causes Hundreds to Flee Kansas City Hotel

KANSAS CITY — A fire in the basement of a 490-room hotel sent heavy smoke through the 28-story building and forced the evacuation of hundreds of guests and about 40 employees, authorities said. No one was injured in the Friday night blaze at the Americana Kansas City Hotel.
