General Partners, which has offered $100 a share for Gencorp, said it would consider legal or other action if the Akron, Ohio-based conglomerate refuses to give it a “fair opportunity” to buy the company. Gencorp, scheduled to hold its annual meeting Tuesday, had no comment . . . The Yugoslav airline JAT, which had contracted to buy two McDonnell Douglas MD-11s with an option for three more, will buy five of the wide-bodied airliners to be delivered between 1991 and 1994, Tanjug news agency reported . . . Boys Markets, a grocery holding company with offices in Los Angeles, filed with the SEC for an initial public offering of 1.7 million shares of common stock in early May . . . Moline, Ill.-based Deere & Co. and General Motors Corp. said they have canceled plans to form a joint venture company to build diesel engines . . . GAF Corp. increased its stake in Borg-Warner to 19.9%, buying most of the shares tendered by financier Irwin L. Jacobs.
