The Indianapolis Colts will not trade the rights to their top pick before the NFL draft April 28, and chances are “better than 50%” the club will reach agreement with a player this weekend, General Manager Jim Irsay said.
Since Tampa Bay signed Heisman Trophy winner Vinny Testaverde last week, the Colts will get first choice among the remaining 27 NFL teams.
The Buffalo News said the Colts have decided to try to sign Oklahoma linebacker Brian Bosworth and are prepared to offer him a 4-year, $2.2-million contract. Irsay would neither confirm nor deny the report.
Bosworth has a year of college eligibility remaining but could declare himself available for the draft.
