In a fever-pitched popularity battle in New York between Mayor Ed Koch and Dangermouse, star of a British animated TV series, the rodent came out the winner. A month ago, the mayor’s TV show, “Koch on Call,” replaced “Dangermouse,” which delineates the adventures of a daredevil mouse. The New York Daily News sponsored a telephone poll to see which program their readers preferred. The final tally was 6,540 readers for Dangermouse and just 660 for Koch.
