Roger Clemens, the 1986 American League’s most valuable player and Cy Young Award winner who missed the exhibition season because of a contract dispute, agreed to a two-year contract with the Boston Red Sox.

Terms of the agreement were not announced, but it was reported to be for about $2 million. Red Sox General Manager Lou Gorman said it included incentive clauses.

Clemens, who earned $220,000 plus $120,000 in bonus incentive money while compiling a 24-4 record last season, had originally asked for $2.4 million for two years.
