Antiques, artwork and jewelry, valued at $250,000 or more, were stolen from a doctor’s home in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles police said Wednesday.

The burglary occurred Tuesday, shortly after Dr. Robert Rosen, chairman of the radiology department at Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center in Downey, and his wife, Barbara, left their home on Valley Spring Lane, detectives said.

The couple returned home less than two hours later to find the house ransacked, Detective John Brown said.

Police had not determined the exact value of the loss, but said Rosen, 53, told investigators it was at least $250,000. Two paintings, one valued at $25,000 and the other at $15,000, were taken, along with three antique European clocks worth $95,000 and at least $115,000 in jewelry, detectives said.

Detectives have “a good lead on a vehicle” that was seen on the street about the time the burglars pried open a bedroom window, Sgt. Joe Purmer said. He declined to describe the vehicle.
