Funeral services were held Wednesday for veteran jazz and Big Band clarinetist Henry (Heinie) Beau who died of cancer Easter Sunday in a Burbank hospital.

Beau, who was 76, most recently had been appearing at the Miramar Sheraton in Santa Monica and the Money Tree Restaurant in Studio City. But it was with such orchestras as Red Nichols’ and Tommy Dorsey’s that he became known to pop music fans in the 1940s.

Beau also had been doing film and studio work and was a featured performer on TV specials featuring Dinah Shore, Andy Williams, Red Skelton and Frank Sinatra.
