SOUND-TRACK FEVER: What’s this--a new sound-track album without Kenny Loggins? Don’t worry, there’s still plenty of top popsters on board for the upcoming MCA sound track to “Beverly Hills Cop II” (the new Eddie Murphy mega-vehicle), scheduled to hit the stores May 18, just two days before the film’s debut. Highlights include “Shakedown,” the Bob Seger title track, James Ingram’s “Better Way” and “Be There” by the Pointer Sisters, the one holdover group from the huge hit sound track to “Cop I.” Here’s hoping that the film’s half as seductive as some of its songs, which include such sizzling titles as George Michael’s “I Want Your Sex,” Jermaine Jackson’s “All Revved Up,” Ready for the World’s “36 Lovers” and Charlie Sexton’s “In Deep.” Sound tracks are the ultimate marketing vehicle these days, especially for up and coming groups who often get a huge lift from sharing album space with big-name artists. This time MCA has made room for a pair of newly signed unknowns--Pebbles and Sue Ann, who both have songs on the new album.
