Utah Defeats SDSU for Men’s Tennis Title
The University of Utah men’s tennis team won five of six singles matches against San Diego State Wednesday to win the Western Athletic Conference team championship, 5-1, at Albuquerque, N.M.
San Diego State’s only victory came from No. 6 Leland Rolling, who defeated Eric Chin, 6-4, 6-4. The teams did not play doubles.
Utah (17-10) has won eight WAC titles in nine years. San Diego State finished the season 24-13.
The WAC individual championships begins today, and SDSU’s Julio Noriega is the top-seeded singles player.
