Local News in Brief : CalArts Placement Program Rated at Top
The career planning and placement program at California Institute of the Arts in Valencia has been named the most outstanding in the nation by the College Placement Council.
CalArts was honored for its creation of the National Network for Artist Placement, designed to collect and disseminate information about successful academic programs, career-development programs and placement strategies for artists, said Pete Mann, the council’s president.
Before the network was created by Warren Christensen, director of career planning and placement at CalArts, placement programs for artists were rare, Mann said.
The College Placement Council is a national organization made up of career-planning and placement personnel and institutes and other groups that employ college graduates in the arts.
