A father and son bounty hunter team from California were arrested in Phoenix on suspicion of first-degree murder. Leroy C. Thompson, 44, and his 18-year-old son Dennis, of Banning, told Arizona authorities that they shot Richard Bachellor, 24, to death outside his Phoenix apartment April 24 after he pulled a gun on them. But police investigators said Bachellor apparently was running away from the Thompsons at the time of the shooting. Bachellor was wanted in Riverside County for probation violations, authorities said. The Thompsons were held without bond in Maricopa County Jail.
