Don Nelson hinted he would not be back as coach of the Milwaukee Bucks next season, but he said he didn’t want to be considered for a job with the New York Knicks if it meant they had to give up draft choices or players to get him.
Nelson reportedly has had strong differences with Herb Kohl, owner of the Bucks, but wouldn’t say if they are irreconcilable.
“I don’t know, but I’d have to swallow a lot of pride to be back,” Nelson told the Milwaukee Journal. “I don’t know if I could be very productive or be able to function very well in my job without my pride. There have been a lot of things said.”
