Share

The Santa Monica Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Southmark Pacific’s plans to complete the two remaining phases of the company’s Colorado Place project on May 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council chamber at City Hall.

The first phase of development, completed in 1983, includes three office buildings and a courtyard with shops and restaurants on the southern half of a 15-acre site bounded by Colorado Avenue, Cloverfield Boulevard, Broadway and 26th Street.

On the northern half of the site, construction started last week on two office buildings that will be part of a second phase already approved by the city, officials said.

The public hearing will deal with the developer’s plans for a five-story office building and a 3.5-acre park to complete the second phase.

Public comment also will be heard on a third phase consisting of a 300-room hotel on an 11-acre site bounded by Colorado, Cloverfield and Olympic boulevards and 20th Street.
