Police arrested two men and seized $750,000 worth of cocaine after officers on routine night patrol spotted a suspicious-looking pickup truck behind a restaurant on Sepulveda Boulevard.

Lonnie Everett, 38, of Los Angeles was arrested April 30 on possession of cocaine for sale after fleeing in his truck when approached by police, said Sgt. Tom Gabor. A search of the vehicle found about nine pounds of cocaine, police said.

A phone number on a paging device in Everett’s possession led police to Jorge Alvarez, 30, who was arrested later behind the same restaurant. Alvarez was allegedly waiting for Everett when police drove up in the pickup truck.
