A Santa Monica man was arrested after he allegedly fired a gun at two Los Angeles County district attorney officials who were attempting to search his home in connection with a bomb threat, police said. The two were attempting to serve a search warrant at a house in the 2300 block of 30th Street, Santa Monica police Sgt. Russ Martin said, when they were confronted in the front yard by Bruce Alan Breitstein, 36, who pulled a handgun and pointed it at them. Martin said one of the officials pulled his weapon and displayed his badge. When the officer approached Breitstein to arrest him, Breitstein fired at the officers and an exchange of gunfire resulted. Neither official was hurt. Breitstein fled into his home, but was eventually arrested by Santa Monica officers, Martin said.
