Torrance : Council Approves Hotel
The Torrance City Council unanimously approved construction of a three-story, 149-room hotel in the Park Del Amo project that will be known as the Marriott Courtyard hotel. It will cater to business travelers rather than the public.
City official said the hotel, on Sepulveda Boulevard about 1,000 yards west of Crenshaw Boulevard, will have little impact on traffic in the busy area because it will not have a full-sized restaurant, banquet or convention facilities that might attract residents.
The hotel is part of the first phase of the Park Del Amo Business Center, which includes three 3-story commercial buildings totaling 308,253 square feet. Those buildings have already received initial approval.
