Local News in Brief : Stabbing Victim Dies on Stranger’s Porch
A Sylmar man collapsed and died Saturday on the front porch of a Lake View Terrace house shortly after he had been stabbed nearby, authorities said.
The victim was identified as Clayburn Reed, 36, a Los Angeles County coroner’s spokesman said.
Shortly before 1 p.m., a resident of the 11600 block of Terra Bella Street reported to police that a wounded man had knocked on her door and asked for medical help, Los Angeles Police Detective Carlos Brizzolara said. The woman did not know Reed, he said.
Detectives believe Reed had walked to the house after being stabbed in the upper body less than half a mile away, Brizzolara said.
